Definition

A paper tier sheet is a solid multi-ply kraft board placed between product layers on a pallet, giving each layer a flat stable base and keeping the stack square during handling.

What is the difference between a tier sheet and a slip sheet?

A tier sheet is used with a pallet. It sits between product layers and has no gripper lip. A slip sheet replaces the pallet and has a gripper lip for a push-pull attachment. The two products are not interchangeable.

What does “one product, three uses” mean?

The same solid kraft board product can be used as a tier sheet, pallet pad or pallet cap. Final thickness and dimensions should be selected according to the position and load conditions.

Which thickness should I choose?

Thickness should be selected according to layer weight, pallet footprint, stacking pattern, product geometry and handling conditions. Available thickness: 1–3 mm.

Why round corners?

Round corners can help reduce snagging on equipment and stretch film during automated handling. Square corners remain available.

Can they be reused?

Tier sheets may be evaluated for reuse in controlled systems. Actual reuse depends on board condition, contamination, moisture exposure and handling. For export applications, end-of-life handling depends on local recycling facilities and material condition.

Do they replace corrugated layer pads?

Solid laminated kraft provides a thin, flat and non-corrugated layer-separation surface. Whether it should replace a corrugated layer pad depends on the required cushioning, rigidity and load configuration.
